Pat Buchanan, Right-Wing Moonbat
It may sound like an oxymoron, but there actually is such a thing as a right-wing moonbat, as isolationist paleocon Pat Buchanan made clear today in a diatribe against Israel.
Sounding remarkably like the more common left-wing variant of the moonbat species, Buchanan wrenched every heartstring he could clutch in his ham-like fists as he denounced Israel for oppressing poor Muslims in its attempts to defend itself from the same Islamic terrorism that menaces the USA.
America itself faces the pundit's blustering wrath for not siding with Hezbollah against our democratic ally and for "subcontracting U.S. policy out to Tel Aviv" by happening to have some of the same Islamofascist enemies Israel does.
According to Buchanan, the USA "meekly complied" with Israel's commands by cutting off aid to the terrorist Palestinian Authority. And then:
The predictable result: Fatah and Hamas fell to fratricidal fighting, and Hamas militants began launching Qassam rockets over the fence from Gaza into Israel. Hamas then tunneled into Israel, killed two soldiers, captured one, took him back into Gaza and demanded a prisoner exchange.
Buchanan's anti-Semitic fantasies actually have him believing that the recent unprovoked and thoroughly intolerable aggression on the part of Hezbollah and Hamas was caused by American weakness in submitting to beastly Jewish demands that we stop handing out free money to terrorists.
As V the K points out, Buchanan's ravings probably sound better in the original German. No wonder MSM news programs love to stick this guy out there to represent conservatives, as if his warped mentality were the only alternative to liberalism.

As someone on another blog put it, now the neo-antisemites of the left have an old anti-semite to show them how it's done.

Just because Pat Buchanan isn't a cheerleader for Israel doesn't make him an anti-semite. That label was part of a GOP smear campaign to decimate this guy when he ran for president. I'm still surprised people are still parroting the smear.
I disagree with this Buchanan op-ed and often with a lot of things he writes. Sometimes he has some good points when it comes to globalism, immigration and the destruction of our manufacturing base.
I think America gives way too much aid to Israel. I don't appreciate how Israel spies on us. The Israel lobby in America has too much power and influence. It bothers me that a lot of American jews don't hold an absolute loyalty to this country - America. We stick our noses in that region's business far too often. I can understand the hatred that American weaponry wielded by Israelis could inspire.
So I guess that makes me an anti-semite too huh?
Which, if anyone has read my blog, knows is the farthest things from the truth.

Pat has always despised Jews, thats a well known fact. Pat tries to deflect this by occasionally saying something good about dead Jews like Rabin, but the sum total of what he says speaks volumes.
Pat really doesnt like "foreigners" in general. Most people approve of LEGAL immigration, Pat doesnt want any immigration at all (he usual doesnt come right out and say it = he parses his words) He thinks all Chinese immigrants are tools of the communist Chinese govt. Things like that.
As for Israel spying on America, that is not really true, they gather American intelligence for use in battling the Islamic menace. Israel isnt trying to destroy or harm us, the Islamo-Fascist menace is. My real beef is the billions given to Egypt - Im still trying to figure that one out.
If Israel were gone, guess where these those Islamic nuts would turn their full attention to... hint: they call us the Great Satan. Those nuts dont hate the US for giving weapons to Israel, they hate us for being infidels - these hard core Islamofascists want an Islamic ruled Earth - the ENTIRE PLANET.
I agree with some of what Pat says but he crosses the line too many times. This is the reason he has no future in politics. He will be limited to stunts like running as a Reform Party candidate or with some other obscure group.

Unless you've had your head buried in the sand and not read or listened to Buchanan, then you know if anyone is an anti-Semite, he is. That's in addition to being an outdated (since Pearl Harbor) protectionist, xenophobic paleocon.
Buchanan is an embarrassment. He'd be much happier with the Democrats.

There's something to be said for "protectionist, xenophobic, paleocons".
If they ran things, we wouldn't be inundated with illegals, our country wouldn't be losing its manufacturing base and turning into a McJobs economy, the middle class would be stronger, there wouldn't be a superhighway cutting through America so the Chi-coms and Mexican drug dealers could ply their trade, english would be the language of the land and the Mexican flag waving reconquista movement would not be tolerated.
As I said, Buchanan was way off on his op-ed on Israel. Just because you're not a Zionist cheerleader, doesn't make one an anti-semite. Labeling him a jew hater was a GOP smear. See what we got by destroying this man's credibility - El Presidente Bush. A free trading, globalist, open borders neo-con.
