Nogales Border Disorder
Nogales has a real problem with illegal immigrants. La Times reports that they "engender suspicion and resentment from longtime residents." Says the Mayor:
Our crime rate has been going up because the only thing they've got is the clothes on their back.
He adds that the cost of illegal immigration "keeps going up and up.... We can't handle it."
The migrants arrive here penniless. They stay in shantytowns or at shelters, begging or depending on food provided by the city, which also provides their medical care. The public hospital's emergency room is clogged with them. The city also has to arrest and jail them when they resort to petty crime. As the police chief observes:
These people come here without money. One way they can survive is to turn to crime.
In short, illegal immigration is turning this city into a hellhole. By the way, I'm referring to Nogales, Mexico — not Nogales, Arizona, where illegal immigration stopped being a problem after a wall was put up to keep the invaders out.
Aspiring illegal aliens from southern Mexico and Central America who turn up in the Mexican Nogales now have to go around the wall, way out into the desert, to break into the USA. Our Border Patrol dumps about 500 of them a day back into Nogales so they can try again later, "drawn by rumors of amnesty" as La Times admits.
Some are career criminals. Whines Sergio Gonzalez Machi, a state official who operates a shelter:
There's no control over who the U.S. drops on us.
How thoughtless of the U.S. to inflict Mexican citizens upon Mexico.
Here's a little more irony: Nogales has a problem finding employees to work in its factories. The immigrants lack the basic work skills and literacy required to be of any use in maquiladoras. Many of them can't even speak Spanish but only Indian languages, and due to "different customs," cannot be expected to put in a full working day.
You can't blame Mexico for wanting them north of the border. But if we would just put an end to the moonbattery by ruling out amnesty and enforcing our national boundaries, the immigrants would stay in their southern villages. Not only would the USA be better off, so would Nogales, Mexico.

Nogales, Mexico should charge the states of Monterrey, Guadalagara, Zacatecas, Sinaloa in Mexico, as well as El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and the rest of the states in Central America including Mexico for dropping off people in Nogales. The Governments of Central America including Mexico should act responsibly and take care of their citizens needs.
