Lynne Stewart's Lawyer Asks for No Jail Time
Remember Lynne Stewart? She's the left-wing "civil rights" lawyer, a darling of the New York Times, who represented the Blind Sheik, terrorist Omar Abdel-Rahman, after he was busted for the Religion of Peace's first stab at bringing down the World Trade Center in 1993, as well as for a plot to bomb various NYC landmarks, including the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, and the United Nations.
Stewart went the extra mile for her client when she violated a signed agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice by passing along a press release from Abdel-Rahman, calling off a ceasefire so that Egyptian Islamic Jihad's terrorist operations could resume. In the past these operations had included assassinating Anwar Sadat, as well as cutting open tourists and stuffing Islamic leaflets into their bodies.
The Left's lovable Lynne was also found guilty of deliberately distracting guards so that Abdel-Rahman could dictate messages in Arabic to interpreter Mohammed Yousry, who presumably passed other terrorism-related instructions along to those who would implement them.
In the positive column, at least Stewart made it crystal clear why terrorists need to be executed, not incarcerated.
Considering the nature of the activities she did her best to facilitate, Stewart is a prime candidate for execution herself. Unfortunately the maximum sentence for her convictions — providing material support to terrorists, defrauding the government, and making false statements to the government — is a mere 30 years. The federal probation department wisely suggested she serve every minute.
Unsurprisingly, Stewart's lawyer disagrees. The appropriately named Elizabeth Fink has declared that 30 years would be "draconian, inhumane and ludicrous."
In consideration of Stewart's age (66), her having had breast cancer, and her work as a leftist lawyer, if not her open advocacy of "violence directed at the institutions which perpetuate capitalism," Fink thinks her client should get off with disbarment — and no prison sentence.
How many of us will need to be killed in our own cities before even liberals wake up to the fact that terrorism is serious, and that those who commit or enable it must be dealt with severely?

Her ugliness made her a perfect match for blind Shiekh Omar. It's the only action she's gotten since junior high. She's planning to sue for conjugal visits with him.

No Jail time? NO way, well ok..... how about the death penalty instead. I been hoping and praying she would be punished big time.
