Ken Lay Conspiracy
It seems nothing escapes the voracious maw of progressives' paranoia. Enron founder Ken Lay, a 64-year-old who had been under tremendous stress for some time, died of coronary artery disease yesterday. Naturally moonbats suspect foul play.
"Ken Lay Conveniently Dies? Just now? Only 64" is the title of a post on the wacky Dvorak Uncensored. According to poster "Smartalix":
Question: is he really dead, or is something weird going on? Was there any foul play? This is just too convenient. The report says his heart "just gave out." What does that mean? I think this should be thoroughly investigated.
Some of the commenters also seem to have wedged their hollow heads into tinfoil hats several sizes too small. Here's what Andrew has to say (please excuse the spelling):
He is the first Bush croney who was going to go to jail, that wasn't going to happen, Georgy can't affort for any of the illegal activities he has been invovled in (domestic spying, conspiracy against the american people, anti-trust involvement with OPEC) to have more light shed on them. Kenny Boy is the first Captain to be taken out, yes, this is more of a mob organization than an administration. And I'm a conservative!
Yes, and I'm a leprechaun. Frank D reveals that Lay is hanging out with other members of the grand Bush conspiracy:
The White House will probably set him up in the same place they have "safe-housed" Osama bin Laden for the past few years… …AKA - Cheney's undisclosed location
Opines theTVaddict:
he totally pulled a jack bauer and disappeared….
Probably hugging himself as he rocks to and fro under a table, Tim Harris mutters:
I shall also make note that Timothy McVay is also alive and well. Government protects their own, I am sad to say. Makes me wonder if Alex Jones is right about all this stuff…
He means Timothy McVeigh, who was executed in 2001, and this Alex Jones, the man with a bizarre conspiracy theory for every occasion.

Enron: Lay's Death Has Legal Ramifications
USATODAY.com
With former Enron CEO Ken Lay's death, government prosecutors are studying the possibility that the indictment against him may have to be dismissed, and his conviction erased."
Really? No kidding? Why not just mummify his body and prop it up in a chair while his attorney is arguing his appeal? America! What a country!

Of course, the whole Enron fiasco started up under "reforms" that Clinton made, and following his general behaviour, changes that were too tempting for a lot of folks and that made it too easy to stick to the letter of the regulatons and still screw out every single penny they could hide. YOu can see the same behaviour on this side of the poind, and on amuch larger scale. Greater regulation always makes it easier for large companies with clever accountants to hide and steal money. All those regulations only cause confusion.
