Did Barney Frank's Gay Agenda Open the Turnstiles of Terrorism?

Aggressively homosexual Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank's successful 10-year campaign to change immigration law so that it wouldn't be so "unduly restrictive on political grounds" — a godsend to terrorists — turns out to have been motivated by his gay agenda.

Prior to 1990's Frank Amendment, aliens could be denied entrance to the USA for a variety of commonsense reasons related to ideology. In their place, Frank left us with a rule that foreigners could not be excluded or deported "because of any past, current, or expected beliefs, statements, or associations which, if engaged in by a United States citizen in the United States, would be protected under the Constitution of the United States."

In the words of James R. Edwards, Jr., author of "The Congressional Politics of Immigration Reform," the Frank Amendment "sought to extend the First Amendment to the world — despite foreigners' lack of corresponding duties that U.S. citizens bear or the status of being subject to the U.S. government's jurisdiction."

As Chuck Morse, a Republican challenger for Frank's seat observes:

Barney Frank ... opened the "turnstiles of terrorism" in America by sponsoring legislation that made it nearly impossible for federal agencies to deny visas to terrorists. As a result of its passage, the "Frank Amendment" tied the hands of the FBI, the Immigration and Naturalization Service and other agencies for the better part of two decades, while terrorists formed their sleeper cells and plotted this nation's demise.

Morse notes that the majority of the 9/11 terrorists were known to be associated with militant Islamic groups before they entered our country.

To be fair, Frank's purpose certainly wasn't to let in more terrorists. It was to let in more homosexuals. In his own words:

[I]n 1990, I had the enormous satisfaction of sponsoring a successful amendment to American immigration law that repealed the homophobic provisions of that statute in all of its permutations.

Frank's problem with immigration law was that it was allegedly used to keep foreign gays from entering the country, although I've never heard of people being tested for homosexuality by customs agents. Lisps an indignant Frank:

I was determined to do everything that I could to abolish this abomination.

By his own account, he played the gay card to get his legislation through:

Before I came out, my colleagues respected my insistence on the repeal of the antigay provision as they would respect any colleague's strong feeling on an issue. But once I had acknowledged that I was gay, this moved from being simply an issue with which I was concerned to something that was obviously deeply personal.
Automatically, this meant that those of my colleagues who wished to preserve good working relationships with me understood how important this matter was to me, and their willingness to accommodate me increased accordingly.

But Frank felt that changing the rules for gays alone wouldn't have worked:

Evidence of this came early for me when (in 1981) the House of Representatives voted 281 to 199 to overrule a District of Columbia City Council repeal of the city's sodomy law. It occurred to me that just as the antigay exclusions had been first written and then tightened as part of a comprehensive overhaul of immigration laws, my best chance to wipe them out was to do it in that same comprehensive context.

So what if the Frank Amendment lets in a few thousand terrorists? We'll just have to chalk it up to collateral damage.

So let me get this straight. (no pun intended)
Our silver bullet against terrorism is religious profiling? That's it? IF that was it then by all means lets get the illegal phone taps up & running.
Not only that but we are to reject an immigrant because he practices a religion that is ok for Americans to practice? Terrorists are blowing up busloads of children, & someone thinks that guy won't claim to be a Southern baptist to get in the country? WTF man?

Jack D ripper,
When people start marrying animals it will be for religious beliefs not genetic similarity. Believe it. You can find marriages to animals in other countries already. In this country there are only one night stands.
