Wheelchair-Bound Woman Instantly Cured
Posted by Dave Blount at May 12, 2006 11:55 AM
Supposedly paralyzed in a drunk driving accident, Laura Lee Medley has filed lawsuits in at least four California towns for injuries she claims to have sustained while navigating in her wheelchair. When police arrested her for fraud, she predictably complained of medical issues and was taken to the hospital.
While waiting for her examination, she underwent a miraculous recovery that allowed her to get out of her chair and run for it. Unfortunately for Medley, the police caught her sprinting through the hospital's corridors before she had much of a chance to take advantage of her newfound freedom from the wheelchair.
There was a time when being crippled was a bad thing, something courageous people struggled to overcome. But thanks to moonbattery, courage is discouraged in favor of self-pity, and the perfectly healthy feign disabilities to get on the gravy train. This isn't just a crime against the healthy — it undermines the dignity of the truly disabled. We're headed toward a world in which people think riding in a wheelchair beats working.
