Forcing the LAPD to Protect and to Serve

Litigation isn't always a bad thing. Judicial Watch has filed a suit to force the Los Angeles Police Department to start putting public safety ahead of political correctness by dumping "Special Order 40," a demented measure put in place back in 1979 that forbids LA cops from participating in the enforcement of immigration law.

In 1996, Congress passed a law with this language:

...a federal, state, or local government entity or official may not prohibit, or in any way restrict, any government entity or official from sending to, or receiving from, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (now Immigration and Customs Enforcement) information regarding the citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual.

However Los Angeles, like other large cities in which decadence has resulted in entrenched moonbattery, does not seem to recognize that it falls under the jurisdiction of the United States government.

Judicial Watch's suit refers to an illegal alien who had been deported for robbery, drugs, and burglary, but soon returned across the essentially undefended border. Because he was stopped twice for traffic violations, police knew he was back. But they were forbidden to do anything about him until he went on a crime spree during which he mugged three people, burglarized two apartments, and attempted to rape a woman in front of her 5-year-old.

Please, call the LAPD and ask them why they don't even bother to find out if the people they've already arrested are here legally or not. Their number is 1-877-275-5273. We need to put the pressure on and high...
