Neil Young Reverts to Moonbattery

To judge by a desperate attempt by aging has-been Neil Young to lay claim to some sort of relevance, September 11 and its aftermath are officially over.

Young's pandering to the moonbattery of his tie-dyed fan base led him to be immortalized by Lynyrd Skynyrd in the classic "Sweet Home Alabama," in which Young's PC put-downs of the South were dismissed with the lines:

Well I heard Mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A southern man don't need him around anyhow

Yet after 9/11, Young turned into a regular Republican, recording the song "Let's Roll" in tribute to the heroic passengers on United Airlines Flight 93 and even attempting to explain to the kooks at People for the American Way why the Patriot Act is necessary.

But now he apparently perceives the winds to be blowing the other way. He has recorded a 60s-style protest album entitled "Living with War," featuring flowery peacenik tunes. One song has the title "Let's Impeach the President" — a possible flashback to the days when impeaching the Republican President was a credible concept. Young's only number one hit was "Heart of Gold," which came out in 1972.

Well now I still don't like him. Luckily, I don't have to throw away any of his albums.

You know, your blog HAS an enormous amount of entertainment value. But as an entertainer, you should be aware that 'aging has-been' certainly should not be used to describe ole' Neil. I can't think of many artists half his age able to come up with or pull off anywhere nearly as many creative ideas/concepts/performances as the Shakey One has the past couple 3 years.
I've been going to Neil shows since the 'harvest' tour in '73, and been voting for republicans since Jerry Ford in '76 (he should'a won, really!). Neil's never been a Republican , though he's always been a concerned, productive, immigrant-american...... and he stopped wearin' tie dye back when we all stopped takin' acid.

My, My, Hey, Hey ....... Be the Rain, bro !

....So If 'Ol Neil is such a thriving popular musician with a big cult following, why then does he find it necessary to latch onto The MoonBat fray of his audience (unlike groupw) for his latest creative offering. It's a given he despises Bush, The War, Conservatives, The USA. I don't need to hear him rant and rehash his insipid beliefs in his latest. I think he should grow some real balls and fly over to Syria and start some kind of Woodstock Western Music festival/movement there. Now that would be ground breaking! But alas, He's a Kowardly Kanadian and it's much easier to bash Bush and The USA. Besides, his guitar solos are spastic (Southern Man) and he is really a creative genius because he can wisely cherry pick any and all the studio musicians he wants. Take that all away and ya got some scraggly wino strumming a nice Martin guitar on the street with a guitar case open for spare change.

"If you don't like Neil you are a douche, period"

L.O.L. That's great you have an opinion.

My opinion is that Neil Young is himself a mediocre musician at best,
who probably thinks that the war is being fought for "profit"-- yet he doesn't mind profiting off the war one bit. Hypocrite!!

That makes Neil Young, AND Olaz both douches. Period.

Want to have some real fun? Try reading an interview with Mr.Young. The man is more brain-bobbled than Michael Stipe. Though he is more coherent than Tom Waits.

PS: Little known fact: Back in the 60s, Neil was in a band with Rick James (as in "I'm Rick James, Bitch!"). Talk about Reefer Madness!

Phil, my neighbor is a first cousin of Michael Stipe. She is a little left-of-center, but even she says that the family has always considered him to be a few fries short of a Happy Meal! LOL!

No, you're a douche MS.

No, you're a douche MS.

Wow...how does one compete with such sharp wit and impeccable intellect? "No, I'm not one...YOU ARE!" What's next, "I'm made of rubber, you're made of glue..."?
