Hispanic Americans for Sanity

Despite efforts by pernicious demagogues like Teddy Kennedy and elite media muttonheads like Juan Williams to convince everyone in this country with Spanish-speaking ancestors that they are part of a single monolithic victim's club devoted to leftist politics, Latino Americans do not necessarily oppose this country's right to enforce its laws and control its borders.

Writing of the recent attempts by illegal immigrants and their hard-left advocates to intimidate politicians with massive demonstrations, the Arizona Republic's Daniel Gonzalez notes:

In reality, a sizable number of Latinos opposes the marches, strongly objects to allowing undocumented immigrants in the United States to earn citizenship, and wants the government to clamp down on illegal immigration.

He quotes Phoenix resident Lionel De La Rosa:

That's the objective of the marches. To give the impression that all Latinos are for allowing the illegals to become citizens. Well, I'm not.

De La Rosa is "100 percent" for the House bill to make illegal presence in the country a felony. Elsie Orta, another Hispanic from Phoenix, would probably agree:

They want us to cater to them all the time. They're coming over here, they're taking our jobs. And now, everything has to be in English and Spanish? I don't think so. They need to go back.

Intimidation often keeps dissenting voices quiet. According to third-generation Mexican-American Frank Barrios, Vice President of the Phoenix Museum of History's board of directors:

There are a lot of Hispanics that are upset about the undocumented just the same way as the Anglo population. That group is larger than many people would believe. But a lot of Latinos aren't going to brag about it because they feel they will be criticized.

Hispanics tend to support immigration, as do most all Americans. Illegal immigration is a very different issue.

Not all Hispanics conform to Senator Pumpkinhead's wishes.

Great reporting. Too bad this is swept under the rug by the mainstream propaganda news.

A hashfanatic/RR Jnr/moobattery generator? You decide...

Enter "bush crime family" or something similar - Bush Junta also works well - in the "complain about company" form and revel in your new-found ability to take part in far-left and moobat discussions on Democratic Uuderground. Feel like a native!

"The Bush Crime Family is a heterogeneous conglomeration of everything filthy, stuck-up, and rotten. As long as I live, I will be shouting this truth from rooftops and doing everything I can to advance a clear, credible, and effective vision for dealing with our present dilemma and its most meddlesome manifestations. It is common knowledge that no matter what terms are used, I find The Bush Crime Family's expositions to be a perversion of the truth."

This is info that you just don't get from the MSM, of course... hopefully FNC will play it up a bit more.

BTQ, though I'm trying real hard to not make harsh comments about others this Lent (and generally failing), I have to say that this picture does beg the question: "Cheese, anyone?"

The food product, that is -- every time I see this pix I think gorgonzola.

Great post, until the picture at the end. For pete's sake, I was eating my lunch. Great diet plan though.

Did anyone else listen to Sen Chappaquidick's (vote whoring) speech at one of those marches?

Pathetic.

I'm hispanic and I say deport the border jumping scumbags, make being an illegal alien a felony, and build a wall like the one in Israel.

I don't know about other states, but here in New Mexico, the native hispanics can't stand the illegals.

We natives call the illegals here MOHOWS. Urban dictionary has a definition of the word.

Ouch. Harsh, but fair I guess.

Posted by: Archonix at April 12, 2006 6:56 AM

My experience in New Mex concurs with that of a previous poster...I lived in New Mex for a time and know for certain the native hispanics are NOT happy about the "Mohows".

I can't afford to lose my job or take off from work to protest because I don't have 12 illegal tax-free relatives to support me, nor am I deserving of the 'civil rights' these squatters are claiming, just because I'm Caucasian, but if the politicians (excuse me, socialist heathen jackassses) in this country continue in lead us to destruction and "one-world-ism", there just might be a revolution brewing. We'll see just how many Americans get their heads out of the sand, develop a spine and finally say "enough is enough".

Remember, only 1/3 of the colonists actually revolted and took up arms against the british rule in order to gain liberty from unfair taxation and representation. The rest of the gutless wonders in this country sat back and reaped the benefits of the great sacrifice of so few.
