Detroit's City Council Endorses Homicidal Communist Spies
The "Cuban Five" is a group of Castro henchmen who have been convicted of spying in the USA on behalf of Cuba. One of them, Gerardo Hernandez, was also convicted of conspiracy to commit murder for his involvement in the deaths of four people who were shot down by a MiG fighter while trying to escape Castro's island hell by plane. Hernandez got two life terms, the rest got 15 years to life — and all of them got the hearty approval of Detroit's City Council, which has voted unanimously that they ought to be set free.
They might get their way: the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta has ordered a new trial with a change of venue, not because there was anything wrong with the original trial, but because it took place in Miami, where too many people have a negative view of Castro's totalitarian regime — although none of the jurors was of Cuban descent.
Maybe the Cuban Five can get the new trial held in Detroit, the most liberal city in America. After they are found innocent by reason of capitalist imperialism, they'll be shoo-ins if they run for City Council.

I was downtown (if it can be called that) for three days this week. Truly a desolate place if ever there was one. Could not wait to board the aircraft for home.

Ooooooh. That's really a convincing argument.
Leftism is truly a religion.
