Chavez Blames Venezuelan Crime on Capitalism
Posted by Dave Blount at April 9, 2006 8:58 PM
Venezuela under Castro clone Hugo Chavez continues to go to hell in a handbasket. Crime is so bad people are taking to the streets to protest the government's failure to perform the basic function of maintaining public order. Police corruption is out of control. Recent high-profile crimes include the murder of three kidnapped Venezuelan-Canadian boys, and the shooting death of a news photographer on his way to cover a protest.
Naturally the budding young socialist dictator has an explanation for this sorry state of affairs: it's capitalism's fault. Crimes are caused by capitalist ambitions, you see.
"Capitalism is diabolic," Chavez proclaimed. Socialism, on the other hand, is "authentically Christian," as the atheist Karl Marx might have been surprised to learn.
