Basil Dalack, Petulant Moonbat

Basil Dalack, a lawyer just elected to the village council of Tequesta, Florida refuses to take his oath of office. What's more, he's suing his own town in federal court to have the oath declared unconstitutional.

Here's what Dalack can't bear to say:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect and defend the Constitution and government of the United States and of the state of Florida.

The words he has a problem with are "and government." Dalack doesn't support the United States government. You see, he disagrees with the President's foreign policy.

Well then he shouldn't be allowed to take office. Simple.

First of all, this moonbat is entitled to his demented personal opinions and has every right in the world to express his views without involving the town's business and resources.
This shows to what level these democrats will stoop to, driven by their hatred of President Bush and his administration. These people have been driven from power at the national level because of lack of new ideas and attitudes such as Mr.Dalack's. If my party can't win elections, I will run to the corner, sulk, cry, stomp my feet, scream "I hate you," and cry until I get what I want.
The democrats lost power in honest elections, fair and square. His allegiance should be to his country, no matter who wins the election. Get your ass out, try to change things within the structure of our electoral process. I don't know of many politicans, outside hardcore liberal enclaves that stayed in power by simply declaring that the opposition is so bad I, therefore, have to be better.
He is doing his municipality a great disservice, putting it through turmoil, and costing the taxpayers money because he personally hates an individual that was elected to serve our national government.
The existing town council should vote this individual and his childish behavior off the island and tell him to go home and grow up.

OK -so he doesn't take the oath and he can't be a judge - It's a win-win

EB I wouldn't call dead people voting 'fair elections', if ya know what I mean

Posted by: Vagrant at April 12, 2006 11:25 AM

Actually, come to think of it, I wonder if he realizes that President Bush is not 'the government'

Posted by: Vagrant at April 12, 2006 11:26 AM

No oath, no office. It's still the USA even if he does not like one aspect of foreign policy.

The problem with all of you ignorant white people is that you refuse to see that the war in Iraq has devastated the lives of not only Iraqi civilians, but thousands of families here in the United States as well. Unfortunately, George Bush's decision to invade Iraq was not solely his own. He had the support of his entire administration, a corrupt administration that has led to the downfall of this country. This President of ours has allowed our economy to sink, allowed hate crimes and bigotry to prevail over justice and civil rights and has furthered the divide between the Western and Eastern worlds. To conclude, I fully support the courageous actions taken by Basil Dalack. Your insulting of this man merely shows your jealousy of his talents, intelligence, and courage.
