$1.2 Million Spanking
Nobly refraining from indulging in greed, Janet Orlando is asking for only $1.2 million to compensate her for the discrimination and emotional distress she allegedly endured when she was spanked as part of a voluntary camaraderie-building exercise at her job.
Sales teams at her Anaheim-based home security company competed against each other, with winners throwing pies at the losers, feeding them baby food, making them wear diapers, and even slapping their backsides.

While superfically it may seem odd, from my management experience, its more like "Why am I not surprised?"
If anything has been drilled into my head about acceptable behavior within a corporation, it is that the work environment, which includes off-site events, must not be harassing, abusive or hostile, and that allowing and condoning such opens an employer to liability. The "everyone else does it" does not fly.

The amount of money being demanded seems a little excessive (understatement much?) but I can't disagree with some of the reasons behind it. These corporate "bonding" events are one of the more ludicrous ideas thought up by managers with fewer braincells to bang together than there are words on their MBA certificate.
Except when they suggest paintball. That's always fun.

1.2 million exessive? All things considered, I think the company got off lightly. Besides, 1.2 million isn't what it used to be- that'll just be enough to buy a McMansion where I live.

I saw this hag on CNN last night. Looks like she's been rode hard and hung out wet. I bet when she gets her go away and don't bother us anymore $$$ she's gonna get be on some extreme makeover TV show. Cases like this beg for a "Loser Pays" the defendants legal fees law if the Plaintiff fails to make their case. Stupid Bitch!

Sorry, but for once I totally disagree with the premise behind this post. If corporations think they can force employees into degrading little games like this, they should be spanked with the only paddle they understand - the financial one. I hope she gets more than she's asking for.
And the same should apply to companies that force people to take part in PC "sensitivity training" exercises and the like.
