Moonbat Jack Wins Profiles in Cowardly Sedition Award
Further evidence that the Left has a sense of humor, or at least a sense of irony, came to light when the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award was granted to John "Moonbat Jack" Murtha for his attempts to undermine his own country in time of war.
Moonbat Jack demonstrated courage by pandering to an obsequiously supportive media as he loudly advocated surrender to al Qaeda terrorists in Iraq, a stand that he originally adopted out of spite because the White House didn't take his opinions seriously enough. Unfortunately his valor did not hold out when House Republicans called his bluff by demanding a vote on his suggestion — Murtha voted against it, even while continuing to play to the press with his defeatist rhetoric.
Murtha's war hero status is questionable and his record is hardly clean, but he has won hearts among his fellow moonbats with false and demoralizing assertions that our military is "broken, worn out" and "living hand-to-mouth," by actively discouraging potential recruits from volunteering, and by hobnobbing with rabidly anti-American activists from Code Pink.
What makes granting this award to such a contemptible character particularly obscene is that in stark contrast to Murtha, JFK was known for his readiness to face down freedom's enemies:
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty.
JFK's words would sound pretty strange coming from Moonbat Jack, wouldn't they? But at least it's appropriate that Ted Kennedy will be on hand to present the award.
