Michael Berg: The He-Sheehan

Most will remember Nick Berg, a pro-Bush supporter of the war in Iraq who was beheaded by terrorists on video. Now his father Michael, taking a page from Cindy Sheehan's book, is appallingly exploiting his son's death as a means of promoting himself and attacking what Nick believed in.

Michael Berg is running as a candidate for Congress from Delaware. Not even Democrats are kooky enough for the senior Berg — he's running on the Green Party ticket. His favorite policies are immediate surrender in Iraq, universal health care, and a "livable wage" — presumably a euphemism for socialism.

At first Berg Senior refrained from exploiting his son's death because of the pain it caused his family. His wife canceled her newspaper subscription to avoid seeing yet again the famous photograph of her son dressed in orange, loomed over by his executioners.

But Michael Berg, who counts himself a close friend of Cindy Sheehan, soon learned to fling any semblance of decency to the wind. Now he publicly screeches that his son "died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld" while staging scenes like this:

With Cindy Sheehan, antiwar liberals hit rock bottom. Now that they're there, Michael Berg is starting to dig.

See, I don't see it as him following along behind Cindy. I actually see her as following his example with a twist. Mike Berg pioneered the "Bush killed my son!" craze, going so far as to say his son's murderers were right in killing him.

Cindy was the one who took Mike's work and added the "Bush won't talk to me!" angle. The MSM couldn't run with Mike because they couldn't really sell his ranting without something behind it. But with Cindy, they could make it seem as if they were simply going to bat for her.

'course, the problem now is that Cindy didn't just stop the moment Katrina hit. She took her little tour on the road and has done nothing since then but hurt her image further. Now, the MSM's gotta wait for the Left to cook something new up to take her place.

What level of Dante's Inferno would this guy belong in? Gotta be near the bottom.

The two of them have been sharing the same pick-axe for a long time.

Berg's going nowhere with any attempt to run for office.

Blackfive had a post up a couple of days ago about a young Army serviceman who joined because of what happened to Nick Berg. Why is it that with the moonbats, other people care more about the memory of the moonbat's child than they do?

It's appalling and worse.

Absolutely disgusting, but I'm hardly surprised considering that Monsieur Berg waited all of thirty seconds before laying the blame for Nick's execution at America's feet, as opposed to the sociopaths who actually committed it.

Notice Mike's got that dishrag around his neck. So do two of his son's killers in that photo.

Mike showing solidarity with his son's killer's?

Hey this guy is whacked, but he has a point. If the US had not invaded Iraq would his son be dead? I think he is probably taking to many anti-depressants and has gone a little crazy though. Bush is not the one who killed his son.
