Jacques Chirac's Foreign Policy Wisdom

This might help explain why Jacques Chirac can always be counted on to do the wrong thing. Here's Chirac on international diplomacy:

I have one simple principle in foreign affairs. I look at what the Americans are doing and then do the opposite.

Apparently this principle has been applied to French policy as far back as WWII, when Americans put up a fight against the Nazis to liberate France.

Hat tip: ¡No Pasarán!

The greatest part of that statement is that, even when a grain of truth sneaks out, he's lying his ass off. Playing to idiot French voters.

In fact, he's virtually sucked the United States' collective unit in almost ever big foreign policy area. Opposition to the old Soviet Union, following our lead in nearly every trade agreement, following our lead on most G7 action, etc.

He mostly only opposes us on high media profile action way off in the third world, such as the most recent Iraq war, Saddam's 1980 Iraqi reactor and Darfur. But he didn't even oppose action there when he was cowering re a potential negative outcome (e.g., 1990 war when Saddam threatened Arab peninsula oil, 2002 Afghanistan action when Europe was scared of post 9-11 attacks).

But how many of his own countrymen has he killed?

Yadda Yadda Yadda....

The She-hag disciples, absent their fry-stations at Wendy's, seem to be drifting further from reality with every passing day.

I'm so happy to pay this dickweed to wipe my windshield.

Today's Tip: Town Shuts Down Police Unit to Help Illegals

A small town south of Los Angeles has dismantled its Police Department's traffic division in support of illegal immigrants' rights. The police are not allowed to tow or compound cars if the driver has no license, and the town has stopped its regular sobriety checkpoints because, while checking for drunks, the police were also catching illegal immigrants who did not have a driver's license.

Viva Mexifornia.

But that's your own fault, for letting Bush open the borders and bring these people in for cheap labor!

Posted by: moonbat supreme at March 22, 2006 10:37 AM

MS,

Which presidents have closed the border? I must have missed something.

Posted by: MG3 at March 22, 2006 10:47 AM

MS, to answer that you have to consider the definition of "countrymen". France considers its overseas territories to be part of France, rather than mere colonies - they used this to get around all the imperial breakups in the mid 20th century. Even places that aren't officially France are still considered to be France nonetheless e.g. la Cote D'ivoire, where French troops took part in some pretty messy street fighting and have been accused of all kinds of crimes. By France's own definition, the hundreds, possibly thousands, that died in Cote D'Ivoire and other french vassals in Africa are French citizens; they certainly all hold French passports. Therefore Chirac has overseen the deaths of thousands of his own citizens.

So how many Americans has Bush killed? Beyond troop deaths, I can't think of any that have been killed by Bush policies.

Arch. for one thing, I'm not sure you can hold Chirac directly responsible for imperialistic attitudes his ancestors may have held.

MG3, do you disagree that no other US president has laid out a veritable welcome mat toward illegal immigration like George W. Bush has?

Do you disagree that our towns and cities are not teeming with illegal immigrants like never before?

Do you disagree that many neocons WANT the cheap labor?

My mother is for sale to the highest bidder. I work for Halliburton. I keep al Zarqawi on speed dial. I have Tourette's Syndrome. I choke kittens.

Posted by: moonbat supreme at March 22, 2006 5:33 PM

No, actually you can hold Chirac directly responsible, for it was he that ordered the troops in to Cote D'Ivoire in the first place. Remember, the citizens of that country all hold French passports. They're french. Many of them are now dead too, as a direct conseuence of Chirac's orders.

You can't weasel out of this one.

As for welcome mats, I have but one word: Clinton. Bush is playing with fire, to be sure, but Clinton is the man who lit it.

Posted by: Archonix at March 22, 2006 5:51 PM

Perhaps.

But how many neocons do you know that give a shag about African lives anyway (or French ones, for that matter)?

Posted by: moonbat supreme at March 22, 2006 8:36 PM

What does that have to do with anything? You asked how many Chirac had killed, and I answered.

Posted by: Archonix at March 23, 2006 4:42 AM

I shag neocons...especially African male ones. Not that there's anything wrong with that. You should try it, especially with benwah balls.

Wow, you really suck at nihilistic jabs.

I think someone's playing silly buggers with the moonbat's name. Not clever.

At least I assume so. It could easilly be the guy himself...

"Wow, you really suck at nihilistic jabs."

That not even CLOSE to what I suck! Been to the Manhole lately?
