Castro Frightened of His Own Underwear

Posted by Dave Blount at March 26, 2006 8:25 AM

Fidel Castro has finally implemented a sensible policy: instead of trying to get his used underwear clean, the physically repulsive dictator has it burned.

According to Delfin Fernandez, a former member of Castro's inner circle, the point is paranoia, not hygiene. Castro is so thoroughly hated in Cuba that he lives in fear that someone will poison his underwear with chemicals during laundering.

Fernandez also reports that the health-obsessed Castro has built a multimillion-dollar clinic on the grounds of his Havana estate, a few yards from his front door. Meanwhile, his subjects are forced to use places like this:

Having worked at the heart of the Castro regime, Fernandez has special insights into the communist dictatorship:

It [the revolution that put Castro in power] has dissolved into this unstoppable, insatiable corruption without limits, a vast lie. The people are in misery. Cuba's people have been enslaved as cheap labor for foreign businessmen.

Fernandez has carried suitcases of cash out of Cuba for Castro and his brother, who have been systematically pillaging their country for decades. But none of this needs stop leftist nitwits in the entertainment industry and the MSM from comparing America unfavorably to Castro's island prison.
