Slick Willie in Islamabad

It has been said that Bill Clinton wants to be the next UN Secretary General. He certainly seems to have the moral qualifications. His politics are about right too, terrifyingly so to judge by a piece in Pakistan's Daily Times:

ISLAMABAD: Former US president Bill Clinton on Friday condemned the publication of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) caricatures by European newspapers and urged countries concerned to convict the publishers.

There has been pressure to use the UN to actually prosecute people for publishing mild cartoons like these, on the grounds that Muslims should have veto power over anything anyone says anywhere. Slick Willie is just about slimy enough to go along with it.

Clinton said he disagreed with the caricatures and that the publication was against religious and ethical norms.

History will long remember Clinton's expertise on the subject of ethical norms.

He said it was the time to promote inter-faith harmony and stand together on the issue.

It's going to be a little difficult to stand together in harmony with this:

A little more of the Man From Hope in Islamabad:

He said the people's religious convictions should be respected at all costs and the media should be disallowed to play with the religious sentiments of other faiths. He said the media could criticise any issue including governments and people, but nobody had the right to play with the sentiments of other faiths.

As Pam M. asks and answers on Blogmeister USA:

I'm sure he also means that the newspapers in Iran and other Middle Eastern countries that regularly run anti-Semitic and anti-Christian cartoons and propaganda should be prosecuted. He must also mean that prominent papers like the New York Times, which have run pictures of Piss Christ and the Madonna covered in elephant dung should be prosecuted, as those images were offensive to Christians in America, right?
Wrong.

Needless to say, the respect for religion that the Left discovered on September 11 does not extend beyond Islam.

Let's hope Pam is wrong that Clinton is sucking up to Muslims in order to get his ducks in a row for the UN slot. It's bad enough knowing our tax dollar finances the slippery lowlife at the UN endlessly knifing our country in the back. Having it orchestrated by an American would make it even worse.

This sleazebag would be perfect for the u.n. And shouldn't it be located somewhere else--say, Saudi Arabia?

Looks like Slick Willie is in the running for "Most Insane Former President of the United States" award for 2006.

James Earl Carter is still in the lead by virtue of his chummy relationships with dictators like Castro and Chavez.

This was on LGF last week, I believe. At the time I questioned the language and veracity of the translated statement attributed to Clinton.

I'm not saying he's above pandering to the Islamonazis, just that the particular statements here ("disallowed," etc.) sound like taqqiya to me.

Having said that: God Damn Islam and All Who Sail in Her!
