On Your Dime: Sex Changes For Criminals
Fox News reports that the ACLU has once again come to the rescue:
Four Wisconsin inmates have turned to the ACLU to help them fight a newly enacted state law that would keep them from receiving treatment for their rare medical disorder. Their condition? "Gender Identity Disorder," which is treated with hormone injections to develop female characteristics.
The law prohibiting tax dollars from being used to fund hormone therapy or gender reassignment surgery took effect last week, but the inmates say cutting off their treatment amounts to "cruel and unusual punishment" and violates their right to equal protection under the law.
A federal judge has issued a temporary injunction against the state, meaning the inmates will continue their taxpayer-funded transition to womanhood at least until the next hearing in August.
It sure would be awful to be a woman trapped in a man's body. But then, as TLA has pointed out on The Dick List:
Many women argue that the trans-sexuals are not, in fact, women, but rather creepy men with mental issues.
Though no drugs or surgery will ever make a man into a woman, modern medicine can be employed to make them into freaks. This isn't likely to help anyone come to terms with their psychiatric problems — but I wouldn't want to question the government's ability to spend my money more wisely than I could.

Exactly. They readily admit it's a medical disorder. Rather than treat the cause, then by all means, let's prolong and strengthen the symptoms. Right?

That reminds me of this episode of South Park (keep watching past the first 30 seconds or so to get to the good part).
