Muslims Burn European Embassies
Muslims have now used the pretext of the mild Danish cartoons they don't like to set fire to the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Syria. Their point is clear: they want us to acknowledge their authority to tell us what we can and cannot say in our own publications.
Stop the ACLU, The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, and Atlas Shrugs among others seem to concur on the absurdity of trying to get along with these savages.
For civilization — ours or any other deserving of the word — to coexist on the same planet as Islam, it must be made very clear that we will stand our ground. Once the day comes that Muslims dictate to us what we can publish, it will be only a matter of time before European and American civilization join once-great civilizations such as Egypt, Persia, and Byzantium in the list of those that have been annihilated by this cancer.
If our souls have been so eaten away by liberalism that we choose not to resist, our grand-daughters if not our daughters will grow up in a culture where it is common to be stoned to death for the crime of having been raped — a culture that worships a child-raping brigand "prophet" who commanded them to behave this way.
We still hold the upper hand over these barbarians. If we lose it, it will only be because we failed to get the better of the "progressive" elements within our own culture that want to see civilization laid low.

Well said, Van Helsing. I haven't weighed in on this one yet (formally) though I have something brewing for Monday. As an American Yak of Danish descent, I am doubly humiliated by the "roll over and show your belly" responses by the leaders of both nations. The only line Islamic radicals understand is a hard one that permits no nonsense and no takeovers. Anything less will be seen as a concession inviting further violence and demands.

You are certainly right that before we defeat the Islamists we need to get the upper hand on the leftists who make up what is just about a Fifth Column in the West.
Hopefully the West is waking up. The murders of Pym Fortune and Theo van Gogh, have awakened the Netherlands and Holland. Some British grew wise after their subway bombings. Likewise, perhaps the bruhaha over these cartoons may awaken more of Europe. The riots in France shocked yet more people. People who once demanded appeasement in the name of tolerance, diversity, and multiculturalism are now having second thoughts.
I hope, anyway.
