Jimbo Disgraces Himself at King Funeral

After Jimmy Carter's performance at Coretta Scott King's funeral yesterday, his position as the worst ex-President in American history should be secure for generations.
There were others who indulged in a little politicking, but this was no Paul Wellstone hatefest. As OpinionJournal notes:
The one moment of true malice came when Jimmy Carter got up to speak. He said of Dr. and Mrs. King, "It was difficult for them then personally with the civil liberties of both husband and wife violated as they became the target of secret government wiretaps" — clearly a swipe against President Bush's terrorist surveillance program.
Does Carter really mean to suggest that Robert F. Kennedy's spying on Martin Luther King is the equivalent of the current administration spying on al Qaeda terrorists? What an ugly and invidious comparison.
Ugly and invidious — that goes a long way toward describing the guy the Clinton Administration referred to as a "treasonous prick."
As his audience at the funeral was mostly black, Carter also took the opportunity to indulge in a little race demagoguery. From a Drudge Report Flash:
"This commerative cermony this morning, this afternoon, is not only to acknowledge the great contributions of Coretta and Martin, but to remind us that the struggle for equal rights is not over. We only have to recall the color of the faces of those in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi," Carter said, the rest of his sentence drowned out by loud applause. "Those who were most devastated by [Hurricane] Katrina know that there are not yet equal opportunities for all Americans. It is our responsibility to continue their crusade."
Jimbo, please. The tragic mistake of your presidency is over. We're still trying to deal with the mess you helped make in Iran. If you have any honor at all, stop promoting terrorists, sowing racial discord, and ankle-biting the President and just go away.
