Democratic Farm Team

Just as Major League Baseball has a farm system to develop talent for the future, so does the Democratic Party. For a morbidly fascinating glimpse of one of the Dems' farm teams, have a look at the February 7 minutes (PDF) of the University of Washington Student Senate.

At issue was whether the school should erect a statue honoring USMC Colonel Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, a UW alumnus and heroic fighter ace who commanded the legendary Black Sheep Squadron in World War II. He was credited with downing 26 enemy aircraft. Robert Conrad played Boyington on the TV show Baa Baa Black Sheep.

A few highlights from the minutes:

Jill Edwards questioned whether it was appropriate to honor a person who killed other people.
She said she didn't' [sic] believe a member of the Marine Corps was an example of the sort of person UW wanted to produce.
Ashley Miller commented that many monuments at UW already commemorate rich white men.

As V the K points out, Boyington was working class and part Sioux. However, he could be said to have been fighting to defend the interests of rich white men in their selfish scheme to prevent the Japanese from becoming culturally self-actualized by conquering the United States.

Here's what someone who actually supported the statue had to say:

Mikhail Smirnoff said he supported the resolution. ... He said he understood the sentiment of not wanting to reward those who fought in the war, but that he thought those who fought in WWII were heros [sic] and that it was a much different war than the controversial war in Iraq.

If Mr. Smirnoff really does understand the sentiment of not wanting to reward those who defend our country, then he's wasting his time on the Student Senate. The guy should be hard at work in the Abnormal Psychiatry Department, sharing his insight with others.

His remarks make it clear that any UW grads currently fighting in Iraq to protect these little twerps shouldn't get their hopes up regarding campus memorials. But the Democratic Party can take heart; fresh talent is on the way.

God bless America's future leaders eh?I have never heard something so thoughtless, disrespectful, ungratefull, and moonbatish in my life.If this is America's future leadership,we are done.America's silent majority really needs to be heard. We are better than this type of leftist garbage.

The campus is NOT the place for the open debate of ideas.

The minutes of that meeting a further proof. It is the cradle of Leftist brainwashing.

No, I do not believe these freaks represent most of America's future leaders. The good kids generally keeps their heads down, concentrate on studies, work summer jobs--those sort of things. These effete sons of priviledge would not know an honest days work if it slapped them in the face. We used to beat the crap out of them at UT.

I see they learned well from the DNC idols. When they couldn't kill the resolution outright, they instead amended it to the point where what was left was so unappealing that the entire thing was dropped. Ah well, I'm sure they can come up with something more "useful" to use the money on, like funding tenure for yet another treasonous asshole.

Click on the PDF and read the whole thing:

"It was noted that tickets for the Vagina Monologues are currently available in the HUB ticket office."

Karl Smith noted the ACLU is having a meeting in Kane Hall this Saturday."

Somehow I get the feeling that whatever these kids are studying, its probably not in the sciences.

Two words on these members of the UW Senate: How stupid.

I have Boyington's autobiography in the library and I remember his adage: "Show me a hero and I will show you a bum."

If they knew their history these left'tards would seize upon Boyington as the perfect warrior to memorialize because they will fixate on his Dishonorable from the AVG and his drunkeness as examples of what the America they hate does to people while ignoring the abuse he suffered as a prisoner of the Japanese and his later redemption.

Luckily they are ignorant of American history and respond in a knee-jecrk fashion. So instead they shoot themselves in the foot, again.
