Vermont Judge Doesn't Believe in Punishment for Raping Children

Child molesters may want to follow the trail hippies once blazed to the state of Vermont, land of Howard "Dr. Demento" Dean, where a judge has sentenced a man to 60 days in jail for raping a little girl "countless" times over a 4-year span that began when she was 7 years old.

"The one message I want to get through is that anger doesn't solve anything. It just corrodes your soul," proclaimed Judge Edward Cashman. As for punishment: "I discovered it accomplishes nothing of value; it doesn't make anything better; it costs us a lot of money; we create a lot of expectation, and we feed on anger."

So in two months the defendant, 34-year-old Mark Hulett, can pick up where he left off, although he is expected to complete "sex treatment," which I suspect entails sitting through lectures and promising some bleeding-heart psychologist that he won't do it again.

Too bad Cashman can't be charged with aiding and abetting the next time Hulett gets caught raping a child. That would be justice.

And yet, the Left keeps wondering why people are turned off by the idea of giving even more unrestricted powers to the courts and turned on to the idea of setting term limits for judges.

Hulett needs to be put in the personal care of "judge" Cashman. So as not to "feed" the anger.

Then we'll see how long the love lasts.

This just absolutely freaks me out. I was so pissed I knew I shouldn't blog it, lest I say some very naughty things and upset mild-mannered folk. Thanks for your treatment, VH.

This judge deserves to be aborted, though there won't be any brains to suck through his skull, they've all turned to moonbat guano.

Wait. What is the minimum required punishment for rape? I know there are maximums, but is there minimum? If he violated a minimum punishment, then perhaps there is room for impeachment. Regardless, this judge needs to be removed from the bench. It is ridiculous, and scary, that this man is judging cases that can effect so many.

The solution for this is quite simple.
1. Wait 60 days for rapist to emerge from jail.
2. Kill rapist with baseball bat.
3. Remind judge that he doesnt believe in punishment.
4. Take a nice 60 day vacation in a VT city jail.

I suspect there is a reason why this judge has such sympathy & understanding for pedophiles; hope someone is keeping an eye on his extra curricular activities...

This girl that survived this pedophile, God Bless her. I hope she will be able to get her self together and deal with the fact that he got away with it. Lets hope it doesn't churn about in her little heart, until she is old enough to do something about it. Lets hope this bad judgement is not something that will further scar her. Cashman is worse that Hulett. I wonder, if the little girl flips out and kilss Hulett...what will her punishment be?
