Sikh Ruling
Posted by Dave Blount at January 11, 2006 12:51 PM
From the Department of Politically Correct Double Standards, an judge in Detroit has ruled that Wayne State University police were wrong to have arrested a student who appeared to be violating a city weapons law by carrying a 10-inch knife around with him, because the student in question is a Sikh. Allegedly, "Carrying a kirpan at all times is a basic tenet of Sikhism, an Indian-based faith with an estimated 25 million followers worldwide."
Meanwhile, Christians can't even put up crosses to commemorate their dead in Utah without legal trouble, much less carry 10-inch knives on campus in Detroit.

A kirpan. In a place like Detroit, these can come in handy.
