Sedition Really Is a Crime
Look what can be found in the U.S. Code, Title 18, in Chapter 115 — Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities:
Section 2388. Activities affecting armed forces during war
(a) Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully makes or conveys false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States or to promote the success of its enemies; or
Whoever, when the United States is at war, willfully causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so -
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
As Alan Caruba notes in Canada Free Press (h/t: Lucianne.com):
One hardly needs to be a lawyer to understand the terms of this definition, so when the chairman of the Democrat Party, Howard Dean, on December 5, during a San Antonio radio interview, said, "The idea that we're going to win this war is an idea that unfortunately is just plain wrong," it could be argued that it goes beyond mere opinion and would appear to be a willful effort to undermine the war effort.
Newsweek's "rock-solid patriot" Rep. John Murtha could also be in big trouble if people ever got the idea that national defense is serious business. It would be hard for any serious person to deny that Moonbat Jack is someone who "willfully obstructs the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, to the injury of the service or the United States, or attempts to do so" in light of this:
"Would you join (the military) today?," he was asked in an interview taped on Friday.
"No," replied Murtha of Pennsylvania, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives subcommittee that oversees defense spending and one of his party's leading spokesmen on military issues.
"And I think you're saying the average guy out there who's considering recruitment is justified in saying 'I don't want to serve'," the interviewer continued.
"Exactly right," said Murtha...
Will it take a nuclear 9/11 before we realize that sedition and treason are serious crimes? Will we realize it even then? Unfortunately, time will tell all too soon.

I wonder where Murthas finger has been?
Ill bet it smells funny after he and Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy met for lunch..... not that I would want to get close enough to find out.

These people live in a fog and you may be right, it will take nuclear fallout to clear the dense fog around the minds of a Moonbat.

You're restating by recent examples (quite well, I might add) just what the minx Ann Coulter so well outlined in her book "Treason." This isn't new, it's been going on, heck, even since the FDR era at least. The vast majority of Democrats are simply not on our side, haven't been for nearly a century. And these latest examples would have potential to seriously undermine the war effort if people atcually took these moonbats seriously.
Indeed, maybe that's their out -- everyone knows that they're just freakin' kooks looking for face-time.

Even a nuclear 9/11 wouldn't convince the Dems and their moonbat masters that defense is more important than politics. They'd blame Bush for inciting the "Religion of Peace."

Is Murtha getting mad that no one is pulling his finger?
Posted by: Jonathan at January 13, 2006 7:06 PM
Jesus... I thought you guys were getting some game, and now we're back to "heh...he has a finger out... it smells..."
Seriously, this blogging by Beavis and Butt-Head. Outstanding work...
But Mary Hunter did say some interesting crap. So given that all Dems and Libs are apparently traitors, why aren't you calling for us to be rounded up and shot or at least interned?
C'mon, you people have been telling me you all out-number a small minority of panty-wetting liberals and Democrat demagogues in this country? What's your problem?
I just wish you guys would get serious and turn pro instead of all this teasing...
And by the way... none of you know shit about the law your quoting. Let me know if any of you would like to have a talk about it...

More treasonous moonbats emerge...
A real moonbat from my home state of Pennsylvania.
"DOESN'T HE HAVE ENOUGH TO DO IN HARRISBURG?
State Sen. Jim Ferlo, D-Highland Park, has set up a Web site to collect signatures of people who are so fed up with what he calls the Bush administration's "lying and spying'' over the war in Iraq that they support impeaching the president.
Yes, that's right, a state senator from Pennsylvania wants to impeach President Bush.
Democrat Ferlo set up the site, www.pittsburghimpeachbush.org, several days ago, and has gotten over 600 signatures. He also plans to run an ad in the Pittsburgh City Paper urging people to contact their congressional representatives in support of an impeachment resolution."

For those who dont know what the Pittsburgh City Paper is, it is basically like the Daily Worker except it has more ads for strippers and sex clubs than actual articles.

Saw this rag back in college. The only thing good about it was the Redmeat cartoons.
This Ferlo assclown doesnt even want to spend real money to put the impeachment nonsense in a real liberal newspaper like the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Talk about a doofus wind bag. This guy makes Ted Kennedy look normal.

People at this site seem to think that recent charges that the Bush administration has been spying on Americans is just spin made up by liberals. So instead of referring solely to liberals' objections to this behavior, let's take a look at what some conservatives have been saying.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said, "I don't know of any legal basis to go around" the requirement that the White House formally apply to the FISA court for a warrant to engage in domestic surveillance.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said it is a "legitimate question" to ask why "the president chose not to use FISA."
After Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales cited executive authority in defending the legality of the administration's actions, Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) - who is in charge of organizing an investigation into the issue - responded that he was "skeptical of the attorney general's citation of authority."
Barrons, the conservative financial weekly owned by the WSJ, called for an investigation into the Bush administration's use of domestic surveillance as a possible impeachable offense. December 26. Look it up.
Should I list more?
The Republican leaders of the Senate and House are under investigation. Many other Republican members of Congress face corruption charges in the Abramoff scandal. President Bush got us into a war based on false pretenses. Before making petty objections to Democracts acting like an opposition party, conservatives might want to clean up their own behavior. In that case, unlike now, their pontifications would have moral credibility.

But Dem...
Don't you understand that Republicans like Graham and McCain are nothing but quislings... "RINOS" I believe is how they are referred to on Free Republic: "Republicans in Name Only."
Remember you are with the President at all time on all matters or you are treasonous, slack-jawed, cheese-eating surrender monkey from Taxachussettstan...
At the end of the day, these people have no use for a democracy or republican government, other than it's utility as a marketing tool.

RINOS:
You mean like Newt Gingrich and Bob Barr? Both have said the wiretaps were illegal -- Barr has suggested it's an impeachable offense.
But it's easier to call names -- like RINO and Moonbat -- than to actually come up with arguments to support the neo-con agenda.
It's a classless tactic to attack war heros -- Bush has done this to McCain, Kerry, McClelland, and now Murtha.
I can't wait until they come up with an argument that Major Tammy Duckworth doesn't deserve her Purple Heart -- even though she lost both legs in combat.
Posted by: Ronald Reagan at January 15, 2006 10:24 AM
"I can't wait until they come up with an argument that Major Tammy Duckworth doesn't deserve her Purple Heart -- even though she lost both legs in combat."
They'll get some K Street firm to start a "swiftboat" style campaign against her. There will be stories about how she shot both of her own legs off to get out of combat.
You know it's coming... you just know it. And the stories will be as ridiculous and as easily debunked as Swiftboat Liars for Bush's mendacity.
But you know this gang... repeat a lie often enough and it magically becomes truth...

You mean like they slandered former senator Max Cleland, who lost both legs and part of an arm while serving in Vietnam? Cleland = Osama = the enemy, a simple variation on the slime we are seeing from the Republican attack machine now taking vengeance against Murtha. They have no shame.

"So given that all Dems and Libs are apparently traitors, why aren't you calling for us to be rounded up and shot or at least interned?"
OK.
I am offically calling for all Dem and Lib-traitors to be rounded up and shot. That includes van.mojo, s9, sean, dreiux and any other socialist you have on staff.
Hold still and I will pull the trigger myself.
Game on.

If you disagree with any issues raised by us liberals, then please state your objections and perhaps we can sort out why we disagree. If I am wrong about my understanding of a particular point, I would certainly like to know why. A bit of advice, however: resorting to threats only undermines any substance to your argument and the appearance of your ability to reason.

Yeah, yeah— talk is cheap. When are you going to pick up a truncheon, put on your kinky boots, and come swinging for me yourself? It's not like I'm hard to find.
Goddam, poxy, bedwetting, needledick troglodytes. You people don't even pose a threat to a three-day old ham sandwich.

I'm surprised they called out Drieux. You know, if they say his name just two more times, he might just appear...

None of the posters to this blog would have the stones to give us a dirty look if they saw us in street, let alone pull the trigger. I know exactly the kind of right wing scrubs you are, driving by peace rallies foaming at the mouth, but too terrified to confront some peacenik hopped up on granola and a double latte.
C'mon, you can admit it here. You are among friends right? You have never been able to summon up the juevos to really get into it with your liberal enemies. You just steam in silence in school, at work, and at the family barbecue because you cannot quite summon the courage. So you run to your computer when you get home and spew this crap. I'll make it simple for you RedState. YOu are pussies, and you don't have the balls to back up your threats. I am laughing my ass right now in your grill.
What are going to do about it?
