Seattle Times Can't Say "Washington Redskins"
Posted by Dave Blount at January 14, 2006 9:47 AM
The Washington Redskins meet the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL playoffs today, making life difficult for the libs running The Seattle Times, who consider the term "redskin" to be politically incorrect.
Fox News reports that the term has been banned from headlines and captions. In the body of articles, the forbidden term can be used only on first reference, after which the team must be referred to as "Washington."
It is truly bizarre that moonbats think Indians are being insulted by having sports teams named after them. Teams are always named after something that commands respect. You have the Bears and the Bengals — not the Rodents or the Insects. Likewise, you have the Cowboys and the Patriots, not the Trial Lawyers or the Liberal Journalists.
Here's hoping the team that cannot be named scalps the Seahawks.
