Private Health Care: It's Not Just For Capitalists

Now for news on another Moonbat Jack, the leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, Jack Layton. He's in hot water for getting medical care for a hernia from a private health clinic, instead of waiting for substandard care from the government like a good socialist.

His claims that he didn't know it was a private health clinic are somewhat dubious. Wouldn't not having to go on a waiting list for several years have aroused some suspicion?

Of course, any sane person would prefer private to socialized health care. That's why so many Canadians cross the border to pay for health care over here, even after they've already paid for health care back home through their stratospheric taxes. But as head of the NDP, Layton doesn't count as a sane person. As The Globe and Mail points out:

Mr. Layton has attacked the flow of public money into private clinics and accused the Liberals and Tories of allowing it to happen.

Maybe he got that hernia from lugging around his gall.

On a tip from V the K.

"What? No one wants to see my hernia?"

I have a Canadian friend who recently completed two years in the hellfires of the Canadian health care system regarding her mother, who was in what nominally is a nursing home but in fact was the bowels of Hades. All funded by Joe Canada Taxpayer, of course.

It was an end-to-end nightmare of red tape, poor care, untimely (slow) care, everything your imaginations might supply. She finally gave up and removed her mother but not without horrendous bureaucratic misery and scrutiny. The family now has the mother at home, it's miserable but better than keeping her parked where she was. They are clean out of options.

Jack Layton did his end-run around the system because he knows exactly how bad it is. But hey, it's okay for the masses, right? Righty-o. Just so long as they get out there and vote Liberal on election day, that's all the masses are good for anyway in any Leftist politician's mind.
