Moral Relativism and Al Qaeda's Hollywood Affiliate

Imagine if Hollywood had spent WWII churning out pro-Axis propaganda. Inconceivable, right? But that war was very different. Our enemies were on one side of the front, and our allies on the other. In the current war against Islamic terror, there is no front, and our enemies' most effective allies operate from right here in this country. In this war, propaganda causes more damage than bullets; much of the enemy's propaganda is produced in Hollywood, under cover of the concept of moral relativism.

Kingdom of Heaven encouraged Muslims to nurse historic grievances against the West. Munich advanced the notion that it is wrong to make terrorists pay a price for their crimes. Syriana, produced by the smirking leftist George Clooney, does what it can to further eat away at our morale by depicting Americans as bad and terrorists as good.

From a report on Fox News (video):

The movie Syriana is based on the true story of a CIA operative sent to assassinate Saddam Hussein, an agent's near murder by Palestinian terrorists from Hezbollah. But in the hands of actor/producer George Clooney, the story changes Saddam into an benevolent Arab prince. And Hezbollah saves the agent's life. Americans are shown to be greedy and corrupt, while suicide bombers are presented as freedom fighters.

Here's what George Loony has to say about Middle Eastern terrorists:

They are, in a way, the most sympathetic, but I think that's important. Because if you are going to fight a war on terror, which is not a state that you can go and bomb, then you need to understand what it is that creates the people that would do such horrible things, rather then just saying — labeling them as evildoers.

No, you certainly wouldn't want to label people who do evil things as evildoers. That would be inconsistent with the principles of moral relativism, by which a tone of high-minded neutrality is adopted in order to provide cover for the advancement of an agenda that any reasonable person would perceive as evil.

If you are advocating that which you know is right, you have no reason to pretend that there is no difference between right and wrong. But if you are advocating that which you know is wrong...

It could be argued that the slick propagandists in Hollywood and the mainstream news media who hide behind the supposed evenhandedness of their moral relativism charade are actually more vile than people who openly advocate evil. Nuts like Cindy Sheehan may be so mentally dysfunctional that they really do believe that evil is good, e.g., that Baathist and Islamic terrorists are "freedom fighters." But Clooney and his ilk know perfectly well that evil is evil, and that they are on its side; that's why they object to the very word "evil."

Anyone who isn't ready for a straightjacket will deny that they are actively siding with terrorists. But obviously, that's exactly what Hollywood has done by consistently churning out stories distorted in order to provide propaganda support for the Islamic maniacs who dream of killing our children in their beds.

George C. Looney is probably on bin Laden's payroll.

I doubt he's going to win many people over, though.

Good one, VH. I nearly had a spit-take when I saw Looney's comment on TV and heard of the bastardization of history that is Syriana. And to think, much of America will watch this film and perceive it as reality.

Say, Bergbikr has just taken a tack on Islam that might make Sir George go apoplectic.

Also, remember that in World War II, Hollywood was turning out pro-American movies like Hellcats of the Navy, intended to inspire and elevate the population.

Now, we get crap like Syriana and Jarhead.

OT: Vets Give Murtha A Piece of Their Mind at Lefty Town Hall Meeting.

Apparently, real soldiers aren't impressed when a congressman decides to screw over the military to give himself cover from an ethics investigation.

I can't wait until Bruce Willis's pro-America movie comes out. And I bet a lot more people will go see that than Munich or Clooney's movie.
