Jihad George Taken to Task
George Galloway, the leftist pro-terrorist MP of oil-for-food fame, has reached a new milestone in his degradation of Britain's Parliament. Former government minister Wendy Alexander has called his performance on the Survivor rip-off reality show Big Brother "excruciatingly embarrassing."
Says Miss Alexander:
This was a platform for the George Galloway brand and I think it's backfired, it's been excruciatingly embarrassing for those of us who saw the "cat scene" on Thursday night and actually it tells us something quite interesting that people will give their politicians a fair degree of latitude to make mistakes, be on the telly, do all different sorts of things, but actually they want you to be there doing your job.
The "cat scene" refers to Galloway crawling around on all fours and pretending to be a cat.
Hilary Armstrong, the British government's chief whip, has urged Galloway to show some respect for his constituents and get back to work. But as V the K has pointed out, British citizens might be grateful that Galloway is too busy purring and licking milk out of saucers on television to do his job; he's likely to cause less damage this way — except of course to Parliament's reputation.
