Moonbats Visualize Humanity's Demise

You have to hand it to the folks at VHEMT (pronounced vehement). Liberals in general just don't seem to think things through. But the VHEMT people have thought their ideology through to the very end. They have also taken the self-hatred that drives leftist thinking to its natural conclusion. Why settle for hating your own country or your own ethnic group when you can hate your own species?

VHEMT stands for Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. Their goal: the eradication of the human race.

Fortunately, in contrast to some of the gory fantasies on display at Democratic Underground, VHEMT's approach is nonviolent. All you need to do to become a member — a "VHEMT Volunteer" — is live by this creed:

All of us should voluntarily refrain from reproducing further, bringing about the eventual extinction of Homo sapiens.

From their website:

We don't carry on about how the human race has shown itself to be a greedy, amoral parasite on the once-healthy face of this planet. That type of negativity offers no solution to the inexorable horrors which human activity is causing.
Rather, The Movement presents an encouraging alternative to the callous exploitation and wholesale destruction of the Earth's ecology.
As VHEMT Volunteers know, the hopeful alternative to the extinction of millions of species of plants and animals is the voluntary extinction of one species: Homo sapiens... us.
Each time another one of us decides to not add another one of us to the burgeoning billions already squatting on this ravaged planet, another ray of hope shines through the gloom.

Nice of them to avoid negativity. Lest you dismiss these people as twisted lunatics, I should point out that the literary giant and esteemed intellectual Kurt Vonnegut has expressed very similar views:

We are killing the planet as a life support system. We may have gone so far already that there's no recovery from it. The game may be over. ... I think the earth's immune system is trying to get rid of us. And it's high time they did. We are a disease on the face of this planet ... it's time we got out of here. We are a disease on the planet, and I think we ought to become syphilis with a conscience and stop reproducing.

But if you want to dismiss Vonnegut as a twisted lunatic too, be my guest.

It would be nice to think that this movement could result in the voluntary extinction not of humans, but of moonbats. However, moonbattery seems to be a matter of choice, rather than genetics.
