CPT Moonbats Play With Fire, Get Burnt

Four members of the group Christian Peacemaker Teams have been captured by terrorists in Iraq, who have accused them of being "spies working for the occupying forces." Actually, they are moonbats who were working against coalition forces. Their current predicament drips with poetic justice.

Al-Reuters characterizes the hostages as aid workers. However, CPT is not interested in aid, but in anti-Western propagandizing. Here's what their own website has to say about what they are doing in Iraq:

Team members accompanied the Iraqi people through the U.S.-led 2003 war and continue during the post-war occupation to expose abusive acts by U.S. Armed Forces and support Iraqis committed to nonviolent resistance.

CPT is angry about the kidnapping — here's why:

We are angry because what has happened to our teammates is the result of the actions of the U.S. and U.K. governments due to the illegal attack on Iraq and the continuing occupation and oppression of its people.

Of course it couldn't be the fault of the terrorists who actually committed the kidnapping. These poor freedom fighters are hapless victims of Western imperialism. Ironically, the statement above goes on to crow that CPS has "worked for the rights of Iraqi prisoners who have been illegally detained and abused by the U.S. government." Who's been illegally detained?

By the way, Iraq isn't the only place these kooks have made nuisances of themselves. Here's what they've been up to in "Palestine":

Team members stand with Palestinians and Israeli peace groups engaged in nonviolent opposition to Israeli military occupation, collective punishment, settler harassment, home demolitions and land confiscation.

and at the Mexican border:

[T]eam members ... remain alert to vigilante threats and monitor border patrol officers' treatment of migrants.

No one wants to see terrorists taking people hostage. But when fools play with fire, there is a good chance they will get burnt.

A CPT moonbat uses the Rachel Corrie method to stop a tank.

While their logic is odd- akin to me at least, to someone holding a state's park's service responsible for injuries suffered while seeking shelter from a lighting strike under a tree within a state park, Let's hope they come out of it alive and unharmed.

Can we send Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink, Goldstar, et. al. over there? Let them "demonstrate" and "protest" over there for a while...

Screw 'em. They seem to be willing to work with anyone who is an enemy of America, so I hope they get the knife, and I hope it's dull and takes a lot of sawing to do the job.

I'm sick of the Bush bashing, blame America crowd. They get no sympathy from me.

Ooh, looka me, looka me! I'm like that boy in Tienanmen Square!

[As if the Israelis were really going to run over the bearded nut.]

Actually, I think that's the Tiananmen Method, not the Corrie Method. As I recall, the results are predictable, but not much fun for the moonbat.

Actually the guy in tiananmen square managed to stop that entire tank column. Partly, it has to be said, because the drivers were local and knew some of the people in the square. but mostly because they were junior enough to still have some humanity left. Never let it be said that the organs of the state are entirely without brains or compassion...

Of course, sitting in front of a tank, where the driver has a clear field of view by design is a lot different to sitting in front of a heavily armoured bulldozer in such a way that the scoop shields you from the driver's view.

PS, the man who stopped the tanks in tiananmen square survived and was kept in house arrest for about a decade afterwards. Oh, and Ahab here was probably posing in front of army surplus.
