Chris Matthew Blames America for Iranian Hostage Crisis and 9/11
Despite the best efforts of fellow MSNBC moonbat Keith Olbermann, Chris "Tweety" Matthews continues to hold his position as that floundering network's most demented left-wing ideologue. On his Hardball program earlier this week, he subjected Karen Hughes to nostalgia for the disastrous Carter Administration, while blaming America not only for the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis but even for 9/11.
See if you can extract any sanity from this rant:
Let me ask you about, you know, there's a definition of a gentleman, I'm sure you heard it. It's not hurt someone's feelings or insult someone unintentionally, and if you want to call somebody out for a fight, fine. But if you don't want to hurt their feelings, don't do it by accident. You know, when I was working in the White House for President Carter as a speech writer, I was shocked to realize that the people in Iran hated the shah, that they, not just the Islamists and the right wing and the fundamentalists, but everybody wanted him out of there, including the middle-class business people wanted him out. And we, unfortunately, were wining and dining with him right to the end, and you saw what happened. We were hated and they took our hostages and humiliated us for a year. And then, of course, bin Laden, rightfully or wrongly, called out, called us for insulting his country by keeping 10,000 troops there for 10 years under the Bush, under the Clinton administration, coming into your administration, the President's. Are we sometimes to blame for the hell that we’ve raised? That's all I'm asking. Is it always the other guys' fault, or do we do things that send signals that we are the enemy of those people?
He's right about this much: the ineptness of an American administration — namely Carter's — did help bring about and through its incompetence exacerbate the Iranian hostage crisis, which might have been avoided if Carter had not pulled the rug out from under our ally the Shah, and which dragged on for 444 humiliating days until the blessed day of Ronald Reagan's inauguration.
But we shouldn't harbor any hard feelings toward Islamic terrorists. As Tweety has pointed out in the past, "They just have a different perspective."

What a farking lunatic.
The American Embassy in Tehran was taken over because President Carter, acting in a charitable manner, allowed the ailing Shah into the US for medical treatment. Which was only fair one could say since it was the Carter Administration that talked the Shah into leaving Iran peacefully and allowing Khomeni, exiled in France, to take over.
Yeah it is Carter's fault for acting like a decent human being that the Iranians took Americans hostage. Parse that Chrissy-poophead.
