Does Rudy have the balls to buck the media? Does he have the character to ignore the media's PC persuasion?

Or is he just another media whore?

Dunno about that but, as far as I know, no US senator has ever successfully run for president.

Don't quote me on that though. My US history is a little rusty. :)

Archonix, there have been a handful of Senators who became president, including JFK (for moonbats, that would be John F. Kennedy and not John F'ing Kerry). No Senator since Kennedy, though, has been elected President.

I think Abe Lincoln was an Illinois Senator, too, though I'm not positive. Also, I believe Truman was a Senator who became veep who then became president (and was then elected president), though he was technically an executive before his election.

Overall, though, you're right: it's darned difficult to get elected Prez when you've been a Senator.

Lincoln ran for the Senate but didn't get elected. Truman was elected to the Senate twice.
