Multiculturalism Is a One-Edged Sword

Politically correct dhimmis in the West bend over backwards to be "inclusive" toward Muslims by pandering to their every demand, no matter how absurd. One of many examples is the ice cream lids Burger King pulled at some expense because a particularly kooky Muslim thought the design on them looked like Arabic for Allah. The story of a Saudi high-school teacher accused of discussing Christianity with his students illustrates how the favor is returned.

Mohammed Salamah al-Harbi was found guilty of "questioning and ridiculing Islam, discussing the Bible and defending Jews." Presumably saying anything remotely positive about Christians or Jews would qualify as "questioning and ridiculing Islam" in a place run by Muslims. He was sentenced to 750 lashes and 40 months in prison.

I wonder how Saudis would react to teachers like Ward Churchill and John Daly, who are on record as advocating the killing of their country's military officers by their troops.

Hat tip: Wiggins

While we're banning ice cream lids, they're flogging teachers.

If you turn that picture exactly 180 degrees it looks like a very tall, wide-hipped man leaning forward and laughing his guts out. Which is what I'm doing at the stupidity of these people for even considering that these two images look alike...

I should like to point out that depending on the instrument used, 750 lashes could well be fatal. I've never heard of such an incredible number, but then again, I've only been studying Islam, the Religion of Peace, Mercy and Paranoid Schizophrenia, for just over four years.

If the shock alone doesn't kill the poor man, the subsequent sepsis probably will.

More Saudi oil, anyone?
