Klutz Demands $10 Million For Spilling Coffee on Herself
The New York Post reports that a 60-year-old woman named Sharon Shea managed to spill coffee on herself as she and a friend drove away from a Staten Island Dunkin' Donuts.
"The [drive-thru] girl had positioned them where they were in the same line [on the tray], they weren't cattycorner," she said, in explanation of why Dunkin' Donuts owes her $10 million. Also, the coffee was "too hot" and the lids allegedly "couldn't have been on tight."
If prices go up at Dunkin' Donuts and they start serving the coffee lukewarm, you'll know whom to thank. Don't assume she won't win — the absurd spilt coffee lawsuit has paid off before.
Imagine how bad it will get if the Breck girl (ambulance-chaser John Edwards) ever ends up in the White House.

Don't expect the prices to go up.
In the McDonald's case, the judgement was based on the profits from the sale of coffee for one day, just inside the US. Just the profits -- not the total price of the coffee.
Causing third degree burns to a woman with coffee hot enough to kill trees got McDonalds a punishment that was less than a parking fine for you or me relatively speaking.

Only a dipshit or an ambulance chaser (pardon the redundancy) would have the gall to assert that if a woman was too stupid to realize that coffee is hot, it was the "big evil corporation" to blame.
