John Kerry II

John Kerry may be dead politically, but physically he is very much alive. Yet it seems he has been pre-humously reincarnated as a young moonbat named Jimmy Massey.

This former Marine staff sergeant, who was discharged with depression and posttraumatic stress syndrome, has made himself into a minor celebrity on the left by shouting at the top of his lungs that US Marines have been committing atrocities in Iraq.

His claims have appeared in newspapers like USA Today, in magazines like Vanity Fair, in broadcast stories, and in harangues given all over the place as he speaks at universities and tours with soul mate Cindy Sheehan. The allegations include charming vignettes like an American shooting a 4-year-old Iraqi girl in the head. He has claimed to have personally killed a 6-year-old. Last month, his book "Kill, Kill, Kill" came out in France, where it is likely to find a receptive audience.

As the St. Louis Post-Dispatch observes,

News organizations worldwide published or broadcast Massey's claims without any corroboration and in most cases without investigation. Outside of the Marines, almost no one has seriously questioned whether Massey, a 12-year veteran who was honorably discharged, was telling the truth.
He wasn't.
Each of his claims is either demonstrably false or exaggerated — according to his fellow Marines, Massey's own admissions, and the five journalists who were embedded with Massey's unit, including a reporter and photographer from the Post-Dispatch and reporters from The Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal.

The ever-changing details of Massey's gruesome tales make it obvious that they a fictional, yet the MSM couldn't be bothered to check up on them before spreading his appalling lies as though they were facts. Why go to a lot of trouble trying to corroborate stories that don't have to be true? The important thing is to demonize America by whatever means come to hand.

Massey may be a mental case who is in therapy, taking six different prescription medicines, and living off disability pay, but he's chosen a proven career path, making a name for himself the same way John Kerry did. If Massey keeps to the same schedule, look for him to be the Democrats' presidential candidate in 2036.
