French Oppose Surrender
Never mind the gloomy propaganda emanating like a severe case of B.O. from Democrats and the MSM. We are winning the war in Iraq, and I have proof. France has come out on our side!
From the New Zealand Herald:
French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, one of the sharpest critics of the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, warned Washington against pulling out troops without regard to regional security.
De Villepin may be a twit, but he is bright enough to say this of "timetables for withdrawal":
The real timetable is the Iraqi situation.
Okay, the French are still not exactly what a reasonable person would call allies, but whereas some people are actively campaigning for our defeat by advocating a precipitous withdrawal, de Villepin is actually being supportive by noting that now we're in the war, we can't quit until we win it.
When the French get off the fence and show more support for the USA than we are getting from some of our own politicians (e.g. Jack Murtha), you know that Vegas must be giving us very good odds of coming out on top.

Um, does this mean I should show a wee bit of positive feedback by starting to *gulp* buy French wine?
Maybe I'll start with just French fries, to test the water.

Hey, has John Kerry heard this news? I'm sure he'd change his opinion if he had.

'French Oppose Surrender'
That's got to be a first.

The French are not opposed to surrender when someone else is doing the fighting. Plus, they are now looking 15 to 25 years from now, when they'll be calling on America to help suppress the Muslim take-over of their country.
French opinion on Iraq is completely irrelevant. They are the scum of the democratic world. After playing let's make a deal with Saddam for decades, after being some of the most involved in Oil or Food Scam (other than Canada), and after doing all they could to oppose the Iraq War.... why would anything they say mean a thing.
By the way The Maryhunter... American and Canadian wine is not permitted to be sold in France... so why ever consider drinking their shit.

French whine... sorry, wine, is actually good. I drink a lot of it.
I know it's a bit of a cliché but it's reallynot fair to confuse the french people with their moonbats. A lot of them admire american culture and the freedom americans have, and that they genearally don't. The problem is that the French mindset is still of the villein/peasant kow-towing to the barons and feudal kings of yesteryear. They're cowed in to silence, and the moonbats are the ones doing the cowing. France's opposition to the Iraq war is a minority position, which would be glaringly obvious were it not for their state-run media hiding it. UInfortunately that's something we British have to contend with, too...

Archonix: My point wasn't whether French wine actually was tasty of not... the point was that French protectionism prevents our North American wines from being sold there, while we allow them to sell their wines here. That, in my ever so humble opinion, makes their prodice Shite.
