Democratic Congressman Calls for Immediate Unconditional Surrender to Al-Qaeda in Iraq

How soon some forget.

Representative John Murtha (D-PA) has taken the next logical step in advancing the Democrats' strategy of deliberately causing us to lose the war in Iraq so that the defeat can be hung around Republicans' necks by calling for an immediate withdrawal of our forces.

That an immediate withdrawal would have catastrophic consequences is beyond dispute. Iraq's fledgling democracy would collapse. After a probably short and certainly brutal civil war, al-Qaeda terrorists would take control of the country. Those who had "collaborated with infidels" by participating in democracy would be tortured and killed, along with their families. The situation in Iraq would be worse than it was before the war started — meaning that the 2,000 American troops who have lost their lives there would have died for nothing. America would deserve and receive the intense contempt and distrust of the rest of the world. With our country's credibility utterly destroyed by our betrayal of the Iraqis we temporarily liberated, our foreign policy would lay in ruins for a generation. In control of Iraq's oil wealth, al-Qaeda would be ideally situated to export terrorism and Islamic totalitarianism, and to develop nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction that in short order would be directly deployed against the United States.

Losing to al-Qaeda is not an option.

Our troops won't be defeated by terrorists in Iraq. But they might very well be defeated by fifth-columnists in our own government, who would rather be first party in a defeated America than second party in a strong one.

Unless the public is not too befuddled by the MSM's defeatist propaganda barrage to react with appropriate outrage, other Democrats will follow Murtha's example. Believing they can rely on their leftist media enablers to relieve them of any responsibility for having supported the war until the going got tough, they are ready to cut and run regardless of the consequences to this country.

Today's Democratic Party is degenerating into an obscenity. It is tolerant of — if not dominated by — traitors willing to effectively ally themselves with the same al-Qaeda that brought about 9/11. These traitors are every bit as much enemies to liberty, to decency, and to America as the terrorists to whom they would hand victory for the sake of their own short-term political advantage.

An al-Qaeda ally.

You see here Rep. Murtha, this is where you blubber and cry during your speech calling for the United States to break faith and runaway. Just like we did in VietNam, you remember that right? Good.

That is how I would caption the picture.

Thanks for calling the Democrat exit strategy what it is, Chief: Surrender to Al Qaeda. Let's hope this picks up momentum.

Meanwhile: Moonbat Professor Threatens Free Speech, Urges Treason

DATELINE -- Warren Community College in Washington, New Jersey.

Rebecca Beach, a Warren freshman, received a nasty surprise in response to her e-mail to faculty announcing the appearance of decorated Iraq war hero, Lt. Col. Scott Rutter, to speak today.

Professor John Daly e-mailed her back. Referring to Rebecca's poster advertising the event, the professor wrote... "Your literature and signs in the entrance lobby look like fascist propaganda and is extremely offensive."

"I will continue to expose your right-wing, anti-people politics until groups like your won't dare show their face on a college campus."

"Real freedom will come when soldiers in Iraq turn their guns on their superiors and fight for just causes and for people's needs..."

I bet this guy has a picture of Ward Churchill in his office.

Warren Community College....Hmmmm not to slam community colleges as they do provide an avenue for higher education for many people, but my gut tells me we have a very frustrated prof., yearning for a crack to play in the big leagues of academia. Bet further Ms. Beach eventually winds up making more than the prof. will.

Watching the debate on CSPAN right now for withdrawing from Iraq. If we could harness the hot air we'd be able to stop global warming.
