Border Disorder Spinning Out of Control
There have been some encouraging signs that the federal government is willing to acknowledge the border crisis. Let's hope that the rhetoric is translated into action fast, because the situation is getting ugly.
The LA Times reports that invaders have been throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails and even shooting at US Border Patrol agents. They also enjoy firing high-powered slingshots loaded with marbles and ball bearings at the agents, and some have tried running them over with vehicles. Assaults against agents have nearly doubled along the border in the last year.
In the Tucson and San Diego sectors alone, 43 agents were shot at last year. The area near San Diego has seen so much violence that bureaucrats have resorted to the drastic measure of erecting signs warning that assaulting agents is against the law. Some agents have taken to riding in armored vehicles with bulletproof glass.
Is there some reason that the border hasn't been mined? Like any other sovereign country, we have every right to defend our territory. The very least the government could do is build a serious fence.
Needless to say, leftists are in favor of the invasion. Two dozen police, some on horseback, needed to be called out in Sacramento last Saturday when a rally in support of a ballot initiative to create a California State immigration police force was crashed by kooks wagging signs denouncing the Minutemen and Governor Schwarzenegger. Three arrests were made during a two-hour standoff.

Of course they want the United States invaded since they hate everything for which this country stands. So when the invasion succeeds these tools will be in for a shock as their bourgeouis accoutrements are ripped from their grasp by their invading brethern.
We got to save those numnuts from themselves just to protect ourselves.

LOL...Yes and the liberals want the extra "income" from the illegals. We have to PUSH this issue, non stop, to make politicians take some serious action on it. Good post.

I myself thought about the mine idea, as it would be cheap and effective. Doesn't have to be lethal, either - they could send out paintball-type projectiles filled with pepper spray and blaze orange dye. That would be a bummer - when you can finally see again, you'd see that you're covered with easily identified paint that won't wash off. We already have the technology to put in a network of hidden, nonlethal deterrents that would be smart enough to allow animal travel, which could also be wirelessly networked and monitored to enable remote operation and to streamline the efforts of the border patrol. But first, let the border patrol have standing 'shoot to kill' orders in response to any physical threat.
