Watch Jesse Squirm

Jesse Jackson has taken the government to task for not going into shelters to bring Katrina refugees back to New Orleans. As always, Jackson has turned his contrived indignation into a self-promoting spectacle, this time by spending two days trying to round people up at refugee centers and then busing 200 people "back" to New Orleans to take advantage of the job opportunities that the city's reconstruction will offer. Of these 200, only a minority were actually from Louisiana.

Now why would that be? Isn't it primarily because of the President's failure to pick them up by the scruff of the neck and carry them home like baby kittens that New Orleans residents don't return? Isn't busing in out-of-staters likely to worsen the housing shortage? Doesn't this whole farce fly in the face of Jackson's rhetoric about natives getting priority for reconstruction jobs? Click here to watch Jackson squirm and prevaricate as he neglects to answer these questions.
