Walter Cronkite, Liberal Elitist
Walter Cronkite, aka "The Most Trusted Man in America," is not only a tinfoil hat kook, but so elitist that he apparently believes we simple people should not be trusted in the voting booth. From NewsMax.com, on a tip from Wiggins:
"We [as a nation] are not educated well enough to perform the necessary act of intelligently selecting our leaders," CBS News legend Walter Cronkite told the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication last week.
Unless journalists follow Cronkite's prescription for properly educating the unwashed masses, "our democracy, our republic, I think, is in serious danger."
That is, in danger of continuing not to vote for the people Cronkite and his clique want us to.
News of the blogosphere has reached Sir Walter at his home in La Brea. He doesn't seem to think much of it. After all, what do we need all this free flow of ideas for when people are already confused by the "opinion journalism" on cable TV? Back when there was only one opinion on TV, it was much easier for us to keep straight who we were supposed to vote for.

Here's a scary thought: Walter Cronkite for President (with thanks to Anna). Dennis Kucinich might make a good running mate.
