2,000 Deaths Party Time

Zombie has put up a cheerful collection of happy San Francisco moonbats celebrating the death of the 2,000th American serviceman in Iraq. (Thanks to V the K for the tip.) Here's a sample:

How can anyone say Americans are dying for nothing? Even if you don't think spreading democracy or combating al Qaeda are worthwhile objectives, it's got to be worth something to bring such glad smiles to leftists' faces.

To give a little context to the 2,000 deaths incurred while fighting a genocidal dictator and the people who crashed jets full of Americans into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and will do worse if we don't stop them, here are some stats on American combat deaths from the Civil War Center:

• Civil War: 184,594
• World War I: 53,513
• World War II: 292,131
• Korean War: 33,651
• Vietnam War: 47,369

Every death is a tragedy. So is the failure to appreciate the meaning of the sacrifices being made on our behalf in Iraq.
