Pataki Spikes Ground Zero Desecration

Excellent news:

Governor George Pataki has cancelled plans to build the controversial International Freedom Center at the World Trade Center site — and representatives of the center say the location change has forced the entire project to be scrapped.

Yes, this abomination — a scheme by leftist extremists to subvert a symbol of national unity — really is dead. From a statement by the IFC:

We are deeply disappointed that the will could not be found to continue the development of the International Freedom Center at this hallowed site. We do not believe there is a viable alternative place for the IFC at the World Trade Center site. We consider our work, therefore, to have been brought to an end.

Mayor Bloomberg responded as you might expect of a socialist who runs as a Republican:

Although I understand Governor Pataki's decision, I am disappointed that we were not able to find a way to reconcile the freedoms we hold so dear with the sanctity of the site.

What? This was never about freedom; it was about America-bashing at the one site where it would be least appropriate. Mayor Mike sure knows how to make you miss Giuliani. Here's what Rudy had to say:

The governor has made the right decision.

Amen. Kudos to Take Back the Memorial, for proving that we do not have to accept passively what the Left tries to hand us.

This is supremely excellent news. A victory for the truth, a victory for reality and let's pat ourselves on the back a bit too, A VICTORY FOR THE U.S.A.!!!

Everyone who took part in getting out any part of this story should be extremely pleased to learn that those efforts were not in vain and that a disciplined, effective message CAN counter the Orwellian leftwing spin machines that in the past held the rest of us hostage to their whims.

Victory my friends! It is SWEET! Savor it and share it!!!
