But...but...it's all Bush's fault!

If you have not yet read 102 Minutes, you really should. It tells the story of what was happening inside the towers on 9/11. Compelling, sad and truly a great book.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Makes it hard to forget.

Forget? Everyday is a "Remember 9/11" event for our leaders. They have even managed to mix a couple of 9/11 references in with Katrina. Sadly, the military occupations in various locations for the next 400 years will be a constant reminder of how we are "fighting them over there, so we don't have to here."

VH, perhaps you give ^some^ people too much credit by telling them not to forget something when they never comprehended it in the first place.
What is really irritating is that we are not doing more to defeat the free world's fascist enemies because the thumb-sucking defeatist libs have no more of a clue about how to do it than Neville Chamberlain did. They still believe that the right approach to barbarism is to "fight them here, so we don't have to fight them there."
The world can make some pretty big changes when you least expect it. For example, I don't think that most Iraqis would have believed that a 30yr tyrannical reign would have ended in their lifetimes. I don't think that on that September morning many New Yorkers would have expected the hand of hell to visit them and destroy so much and so many in so little time.
This is a good place to remember (or for some to really comprehend) that what happens "over there" really does matter "here." There is no negotiating with evil, that is like smiling sheepishly at Hitler or Stalin and expecting their mercy and having faith in their agreements. So, at different points in history we will be called to action and "the tree of liberty" will be "refreshed with the blood of patriots and tyrants." This is not an ideal, it is just a description of a historical truth.
Although there is a place for lamentation, to dwell on it is unhealthy.

"Although there is a place for lamentation, to dwell on it is unhealthy."
That's all I'm sayin'.

Nice one Sirc - where's the next war? Are you still confusing Iraq with Al Queda. Let's not forget 9/11 by conentrating on getting Bin Laden rather than having distraction elsewhere.
Here's a tip for your next war - China. They actually have WMDs, occupy Tibet and have an appalling human rights record. Then you can show the 'thumb-sucking defeatist libs' what a big man you are.

GaffaUK, who do you think we're fighting in Iraq? Using your logic, we would have gotten to Hitler faster if we hadn't wasted so much time fighting Nazis.
