Leftists Run Wild in Athens
See if you can find sense in this:
Left-wing activists gathered in Athens Saturday to protest a planned neo-Nazi rally. The neo-Nazis didn't show up, but the lefties weren't about to let that spoil the party. They went after the police instead, pelting them with rocks, bottles, and Molotov cocktails. Once they had their blood up, some launched an assault on the main opposition Socialist party offices. Others contented themselves with vandalizing automobiles. Then there were the 200 or so who attacked Polytechnic University and set it on fire.
That's right, the leftists attacked rival socialists and a university. Maybe I'm missing the finer nuances of their philosophy, but there are times when I think "leftist" and "nihilist" are synonyms, and that these goons will seize on any opportunity to behave like vicious beasts. The results when the far Left manages to take control of a country — as evidenced last century in Russia, China, Cambodia, etc. — certainly support this theory.

The irony is, Neo Nazis are more like so-called old socialists than they'd care to admit, except they replace "class" with "race". Like everyone else they've fallen for the lie that the Nazis were right-wing so they try and play down the socialist angle. They weren't. The Nazis were bolshevics in everything but name. So, even if these lefties thought they were going to attack righties, they were actually going to attack closetted lefties.

Politics is a circle, at some point the extreme left and extreme right meet. But, it does leave us with a dilema... if loony lefties are "Moonbats"; what are the nazi-right?
