It's All Bush's Fault Because...

Why didn't Nagin use these buses to evacuate New Orleans? Because President Bush doesn't believe in public transportation. No really, you can hear it straight from the mouth of Senator Landrieu at The Political Teen. Thank you Byron for the tip.

The Governor notified Bush the Saturday before the storm that the state did not have resources to meet the impact. Under the National Response Plan, the President -- that same day -- authorized FEMA to take charge of coordinating evacuation and other efforts. At that point, these buses belong to FEMA.

Here's a line from President Bush's order:

"Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency." -- Signed, George Bush, President
