DNC: Bush Deprives Youth of Physical Fitness

According to the Democratic National Committee, President Bush has weighing upon his conscience the responsibility for depriving American youth of physical fitness.

As any true liberal could tell you, pudgy children who huff and puff after climbing a flight of stairs are not the result of a society decayed by liberalism to the point that you don't dare let them run around outdoors, but to a lack of sufficient funding for federal programs.

Bush has a responsibility to "make sure that all American children have access to physical fitness programs," declared DNC spokesman Josh Earnest. The reader can decide whether he was earnest, or this was just a josh. Needless to say these programs must be entirely "free" — that is, paid for in full by taxpayers who may or may not be deriving any benefit from them.

The DNC is also outraged that Bush has weakened the Title IX rules that have had such a devastating impact on college athletics. According to the Dems, "The new rules allow colleges to demonstrate that they are satisfying the demand for women's sports with an online survey showing that female students have no unmet sports interests." This clearly won't do. More men's wrestling programs need to be terminated immediately to address the historic grievances of fair sex.

The same DNC press release then goes on to hyperventilate over allegedly skyrocketing childhood obesity rates. The implication is that Bush bears the blame, presumably because there are too few federal calisthenics programs, unless I missed a connection to his easing of the Title IX gender warfare foolishness. Maybe Bush failed to institute new programs to teach children how to eat properly.

Thanks to Wiggins for the tip and the images.

Think this is a joke? Do you want your kids to grow up to look like this?

Uh oh, I exercised without making sure it was a government-based workout. Whatever will become of me!!!

Really! If people still need the federal government to hold their hand regarding the importance of healthy eating and physical activity, and at taxpayer expense, we're in real trouble.

This kills me. More nanny state bulls**t.

Uh, how about we feed our kids healthy food and make them go outside to play? You know - put down the cheeseburger and Ding Dongs, turn off the computer and the TV and go outside and run around. It worked for us when we were kids and it worked for my kids. We weren't fat as a result.

What's that? Too lazy to watch their kids while they play? Too lazy to take them to a park? Too lazy to maybe (gasp!) exercise with them?

Why is everyone else always responsible? Why is it that the response is always to throw more money at the problem?

ARRRGGH! I need a drink.

And how about a warning before you post any more half-nude pictures of Teddy? ;-)

Van H, I responded to your comment about Sandy Burglar over at my blog, but I didn't know if you had a chance to read it. But here's an analysis of the plea bargain and its implications:

OT: Soros Funded Moonbat Group 'America Coming Together' Comes Apart

A year ago, the liberal group America Coming Together was on the cutting edge of national politics, spending tens of millions of dollars on a massive voter-mobilization project in every presidential battleground state.

The dream was that ACT -- heavily funded by billionaire George Soros -- would play a decisive role in getting Democratic nominee John F. Kerry elected president and then remain in business as a permanent force in liberal politics.

Instead, the group this week began sending e-mails to most of the 28 people who make up the remaining ACT staff warning that their paychecks would stop at the end of August. All the state offices have been, or are soon to be, closed
