America Coming Together Comes Apart
It's always nice to have good news to report. America Coming Together, the left-wing group bankrolled by zillionaire moonbat George Soros with the express purpose of preventing President Bush from being reelected, is coming apart at the seams (thanks to V the K for the link).
Last spring the organization was surfing on a tidal wave of Soros's cash, which they spent in battleground states on voter mobilization efforts and TV ads. But having failed in its role as middleman in Soros's bid to buy the White House, ACT has lost its sugar daddy and is now experiencing cash flow problems of the highest magnitude. The 28 stragglers who remain on ACT's staff had better polish their resumes; paychecks stop at the end of August.
For now ACT will stagger on as a research operation. Whether the organization will still exist when the next election rolls around is doubtful.

So nice to hear that, after their self-proclaimed "most profound get out the vote effort in history" et al., they've been reduced to a comic example of Big Bad Money falling to the Will of the American People (and, no doubt, the gallant efforts of a few intrepid rightwing bloggers to boot).

I was back in Ohio weeks before the election and the ACT types were pretty easy to spot. Out of state plates on cars festooned with lefty freak show bumper stickers.
Imagine when these hippie freaks went door to door... YIKES! I was visiting my parents, and we were spared a visit. I would have enjoyed it.
