I would only dispute one part of that VH:
"evil god that isn't real"
He may not be a god, but the evil is real alright. And it has a name. It is the same evil that "mixes truth with lies" (Google that phrase for a clue).
It's the same evil that makes some feel justified in harassing injured soldiers outside a military hospital.
It's the same evil that makes some believe that terror would end if we allowed the Jews and Israel to be destroyed.
It's that same evil that encourages the "fake, but accurate" mentality of those in the media and Hollywood.
That evil is real, it has a face and a name.
