Helen Thomas Promises to Kill Herself

Illustrating the maturity and even-handedness that characterize the mainstream media's Washington press corps, Helen Thomas has threatened to kill herself if Vice President Dick Cheney runs for the highest office, according to the Drudge Report (hat tip: AngryYoungConservativesUnite).

"The day Dick Cheney is going to run for president, I'll kill myself," Thomas is quoted as telling the newspaper HILL. "All we need is one more liar."

Now the bad news: no one seems to expect him to run.

Drudge does not report on the rumor that if Rick Santorum runs, Thomas will express her displeasure by spending the rest of her life in the monkey cage at the Washington Zoo.
